ONE HIT WONDERS wins 1st ever LIGA championship

Here's the Recap of a intense Thursday night in the LIGA as a champion was crowned.

ONE HIT WONDERS, LIGA Champions, "Carry On"

SEMIFINALS

(3) HOME SCHOOLERS  slides past (2) BURKS 2-1 
  The SCHOOLERS came out firing, stymied the Champions and won the 1st game...In the 2nd BURKS showed why they hoisted the championship last season, firing on all cylinders. But in game 3, the SCHOOLERS  dominated in the second half of the game, frustrated BURKS, and cruised to a win by a score of 25-16.   



(1) ONE HIT WONDERS  defeat  (5) SERVING UP A BUZZ 
    The WONDERS came into the game feeling pretty confident, and that was evident after a easy game 1 win...But in game 2 SUAB turned up the heat and was able to fluster ONE HIT, winning the game and evening the series...Would ONE HIT lose?
  Not hardly.
  ONE HIT  delivered a dominant performance in the early going, jumping out to a 10-0 lead and never looking back to advance to LIGA Championship.

LIGA CHAMPIONSHIP

(1) ONE HIT WONDERS win 1st ever LIGA Championship over (3) SCHOOLERS squad

In mid- season, the ONE HIT WONDERS were rolling, and then lost a key battle of the classic "1 vs 2" series in the season, dripping them down tk. The 2 spot.
Ever since then they have made it a personal mission to prove the doubters wrong..And to claim the top spot.
  On Thursday night? Mission Accomplished.

  ONE HIT was able to hold off a feisty SCHOOLERS squad, who lost both games 25-20. While ONE HIT won in 2, it was a battle as the SCHOOLERS fought until the end. Howcer, a couple key turnovers and the inability to get ahead really cost the SCHOOLERS.
   Both teams played in their first LIGA Championship.

NET LOVE wins Wednesday LIGA in epic fashion

When it comes to the LIGA Final 4, anything can happen..
And here are the results from the epic week of high level Volleyball that ended with 2 champions- in different paths no less.

Let's take a look a Wednesday Results:


SEMIFINALS

MAKE UP SETS  sweeps  CHAOS 

 MAKE UP came out with precision and was able to thwart a tough CHAOS  squad.  While both games were close, MAKE UP was able to get the key points and win and move on to the Championship.


NET LOVE  defeats  BIG DIGGS=GREAT SETS 

 After BIG DIGGS grabbed the first game, NET LOVE was able to pull off the last two games and pull off a epic win. Game 3 was a nail biter, but NET LOVE showed the Championship resiliency and effort to grind out a win.

CHAMPIONSHIP

NET LOVE defeats MAKE UP SETS  2-1 to win TITLE

NET LOVE  overcame the odds and pulled out a late game victory and win another LIGA Championship
as they defeated the #1 seed to win the title.
In game 1, it looked as if MAKE UP  would be rolling to a championship after winning Game 1. But NET LOVE made a couple adjustments, and won a crucial game 2.
In game 3, MAKE UP SETS seemed to have control of the game, but NET LOVE refueled and got it close before the stretch run. After MAKE UP SETS held the lead at 22-17 they would never serve the ball again as NET LOVE  scored the remaining 8 points to seal the deal and stun the top seed.

    NET LOVE was playing with heavy hearts as the  captain had some family health problems which shook the team up. However they rose up in true champion form.
                 
    Salute NET LOVE on the season.

2nd Annual Volleyballin' Award Party goes down tonight

The 2nd Annual Volleyballin' holiday party will go down at the Dark Horse Tavern tonight from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.
   The Dark Horse Tavern serves good food, drinks, and music and EVERY TEAM WILL RECIEVE A AWARD, COURTESY OF Referee DCash.

Please make sure your team has at least (2) Players at the Event!

DARK Horse Tavern is located next to Perkins off Dayton Mall exit (Byers Road)

Thursday LIGAPlayoff Recap: Which higher seed got knocked off?

Here's a recap of the action from the 1st round of Thursday Nights playoff action:

1st Round 

 (8) SHANKAPOTOMOUS   sweep   (9) SETTING DUCKS
   SHANKA was able to grab two close wins and move to next round. Both games were close, but the DUCKS couldn't quite get over the hump.


Quarterfinals 

(1) ONE HIT WONDERS  sweep   (8) SHANKAPOTOMOUS
ONE HIT showed why they claim the top spot as they dominated a SHANKA squad who already were tired and undermanned. ONE HIT has now won 11 straight games.



(2) BURKS    sweep   (7) DAKOTA REALTY
 BURKS displayed the championship mentality that it will take to win it all, defeating a game Dakota team. Both games were fairly close until the late stages where BURKS sealed the deal.



(3) HOME SCHOOLERS    defeat  (6) SMACK YA BALLS  2-1
SMACK TV came out firing, and it looked as if they would move on  after the 25-19 win in game 1. But the SCHOOLERS turned up the intensity, won a tough game 2 & kept the heat up in Game 3 to win. SMACK YA  seemed to be in it midway through the 3rd game, but the SCHOOLERS went on a run to get to the LIGA 4 for the 3rd straight time.




(5) SERVING UP A BUZZ    defeats   (4) CHILL N SERVE   2-1
In the Game of the Week, the former Champs (SUAB) set the tone early & won the 1st game. However, CNS came storming back to win the 2nd and it was 17 -all late in game 3, when SUAB went on the decisive 8-2 run to get back to another LIGA Final 4. Both teams played at a high level and it was definitely a game to remember.

     Can BURKS continue its dominating play this season? Or will the SCHOOLERS get to its first ever LIGA Championship? Both teams are playing well, and boast players who can change the game.

 Can a former Champion find the rhythm to defeat the hottest team in the LIGA?  SUAB has been there before, but still looking for the right level.to get them to the top.

Looks as if they on a mission since losing 1-2 battle. Can they be stopped?

Here's the results from the 1st round of Wednesday night:

1st Round- 

(7) ABSOLUTE POWER   sweeps   (10) VOLLEY OLLEY OXEN  

POWER was too much for VOLLEY OLLEY, and won easily in two sets

(8) MONEY TEAM  sweeps (9) HIT FACED 

MONEY squad handled biz and defeated a game HIT FACED squad. 

Quarterfinal Recap  - 

(1) MAKE UP SETS  squeaks by   ABSOLUTE POWER 2-1 

   ABSOLUTE POWER was in control, winning game 1, and leading 20-15 & 24-22 in the 2nd game. However,  MAKE UP SETS scored the final 3 points to rally and win game 2, then cruised in game 3 to win the series.

(2) BIG DIGGS=GREAT SETS  sweeps  (8) MONEY TEAM  

   BIG DIGGS pulled out a close game 1, and was able to push even harder to a easier game 2 win and the sweep.
BD=GS looked like they were ready for war, and played with that same intensity. 

(4) CHAOS   sweeps  (5) WEASELS   

     In what usually is a ESPN classic when it comes to 4vs5, but CHAOS was able to keep WEASELS off guard en route to the victory. CHAOS will make it to its 6th consecutive LIGA 4 semifinal. The games were close, but CHAOS dictated the tempo and flow of the game from the start. 

(3) NET LOVE     defeats  (6) SET TO KILL

NET LOVE will move on to the semis after defeating a tough STK squad.

Rankings for Thursday after Week 7; Which team on the rise?

As we get back to volleyball, and the playoffs right around the corner,  here's our Thursday LIGA rankings as we head into final Week of Regular season:

(1) BURKS     18 - 4      BURKS  hasn't lost a game since the showdown against one hit wonders leaving them at the top of the Liga going into the last week. can they hold on?


(2) ONE HIT WONDERS   19-3  The WONDERS   have dominated like no other since losing that series, and look to be salivating over the top spot. can they get it done?


(3)  HOME SCHOOLERS   16-5  SCHOOLERS  have been on fire as well, and they could also end up number one depending on how the games play out tonight. Been a great season nevertheless.


(4)  SMACK YA BALLS   13-8    SMACK YA   stays in 4 slot  despite losing a tough series last week to suab. They  I've been playing consistently hard and well for the last 4 weeks.


(5)  CHILL N SERVE   13-8   CNS had a good week & stays put, inching towards their best season ever.
Can they crack the top 4?

(6) SERVING UP A BUZZ   12-9  -  SUAB  came out with  a much-needed series victory last week keeping them in range for a top-three spot. they look to be getting their chemistry together for a push in the playoffs.


(7) DAKOTA REALTY   9-12   -  DAKOTA could move up out of 7 spot with a good week....has been a up and down season for Dakota, but they definitely have been playing better of late;  Can they take it up one more notch?



(8) SHANKAPOTOMOUS   4-17   SHANKA has endured it's hardest to date, but still has players that have reached the Liga Final Four....They know what it takes, but can they get that cohesion back?



(9) SETTING DUCKS   3-18   The DUCKS  have been one of the more entertaining teams this season, can they find a slipper and become the Cinderella of the LIGA Playoffs?



(10)  GORDON   1-20   GORDON will look to get back on the board tonight. I know they will be fired up...

(4) CHAOS    14-7  CHAOS   will look to bounce back after tough week; Can they get it ready for playoff run? 

(5) WEASELS    12-9   WEASELS  have had fairly good season, but have had a good run of late, which could bode well for playoffs

(6) SET TO KILL     12-9     STK lost series, but remains a favorite to make a run at the title; will they be healthy?

(7) ABSOLUTE POWER     10-11  POWER got a much needed sweep, and now hovers near the .500 mark. Can they keep that momentum going tonight? 

(8) HIT FACED     6-15   HIT FACED  lost last week, but will look to bounce back this week for the playoff run

(9) MONEY TEAM    5-13  MONEY squad hasn't found its rhythm yet, but could be a team you don't want to face in the playoffs.

LIGA RANKINGS (after Wk 6)

(1) BURKS  -  14-4  - BURKS   won all 3 last week, and remain in the pole position.

One Hit Wonders with a message for the Non-Believers

(2) ONE HIT WONDERS   -  15-3  -  ONE HIT   bounced back with a ferocious effort last week, to solidify themselves at the top of the LIGA.


(3) HOME SCHOOLERS  -  13-5  -  SCHOOLERS  has gotten steaming hot, running off 9 straight to move up to #3 spot; can they get to the top spot?   


(4) SMACK YA BALLS   -  12-6  - SMACK YA BALLS   pulled out a sweep last week, and are in prime position to maybe make a run at a regular season title.


(5) CHILL N SERVE   -   11-7   -  CNS   got a much needed sweep and now sits in a position to have its best season yet.


(6) SERVING UP A BUZZ   -  10-8  -  SUAB    was dealt a setback last week and dropped a few spots. But with a good week? Could move right back up charts.


(7) DAKOTA REALTY   -   8-10  -  DAKOTA  will try to snap back after losing last week after falling below .500


(8) SHANKAPOTOMOUS   -  3-15  - SHANKA   has had a rough season for compared to others, but still possess enough talent to make noise in the tourney.


(9) SETTING DUCKS   -  3-15   -  DUCKS   will try to move up the ladder this week after a tough series loss last week.

(10)  GORDON   -  1-17   -  GORDON   will look to get back in the W column after tough loss last week.

Wednesday LIGA Rankings; Rosters must be turned in today

As we hit Thanksgiving time, here's the big things of note for Week 7:

Rosters must be turned in today: 

 No exceptions.  

If you play someone (Emergency Sub) who is not on your roster after today, you will Forfeit your game - unless other team agrees before the game. U cannot have more than one person as a emergency sub. 

If a player is hurt DURING THE GAME  & CANNOT FINISH THE Game and SEASON, you can pick up (1) replacement player to add to the roster of  EQUAL SKILL LEVEL OF THE PLAYER HURT. 

Here's the LIGA RANKINGS (after Week 6) 

(1) MAKE UP SETS   13-2   - MAKE UP SETS  had a nice bounce back week, winning all 3 and remaining at the top. 

(2) CHAOS    14-4   - CHAOS   also had a nice week vs. POWER,  getting a sweep and staying within a good week of being #1.

(3) BIG DIGGS = GREAT SETS   14-4  -  BIG DIGGS   had a couple close games, but won all 3 games  nevertheless, and stay in good position.  

(4) NET LOVE     13-5   -  NET LOVE    also swept last week, and looks ready to make its playoff run. 

(5)  WEASELS   10-7   -  WEASELS   lost a tough series, but still in a good position to move into top 4. 

(6)  SET TO KILL   11-7   -  STK    has started to hit their rhythm with 3 consecutive series wins; this could be the most dangerous team in the LIGA. 

(7) ABSOLUTE POWER   7-11  -   POWER    took a tough one last week, and will try to get back to the .500 mark and hit their playoff stride.

(8) HIT FACED    6-12   -  HIT FACED    lost a tough series, but moved up a spot and could be moving up more after playing well in recent weeks.

(9)  MONEY TEAM   4-11  -   MONEY   squad has been up and down all season; can they ramp it up for the playoffs?

(10) VOLLEY OLLEY OXEN   0-18  -  Can VOLLEY OLLEY     do what they almost did the last couple of weeks? This team is definitely on the verge of a breakout week. 

Final Note: 2nd Annual Vball Holiday Party is either at one of two locations :  Dark Horse Tavern  or Chappys.  I will ask each captain which place is better and make a decision by Friday.  Date will be set next week.

    In a possible LIGA championship preview, Team BURKS (2seed) defeated the #1 seeded ONE HIT WONDERS (2-1); They played great ball, and now seem ready to make another championship run.

   SERVING UP A BUZZ won a close contest VA a game CHILL N SERVE squad, solidifying themselves in Top 3

LIGA RANKINGS (Thru wk 5)

(1) BURKS   11-4   -  BURKS  launches into top spot after a big series win over ONE HIT. Can they stay there?

(2) ONE HIT WONDERS    12-3  -  ONE HIT   sat in the top spot for a week, then was supplanted after a tough series loss last week...Can they regroup?


(3) SERVING UP A BUZZ    10- 5  -SUAB   has been on the upswing, and a tough series win last week keep them in the 3rd spot

(4) HOME SCHOOLERS    10-5   - SCHOOLERS   have been the hottest team in the LIGA in the last couple weeks; can they keep it up?

(5) SMACK YA BALLS    9-6   -  SMACK YA  has found its rhythm, and is showing that championship level they had a couple years ago.

(6) CHILL N SERVE   8-7  - CNS   is hitting the proverbial crossroads; can they stay in upper echelon? It's been a good season,  but they have to get a series win.

(7) DAKOTA REALTY   8-7  - DAKOTA   also has had a good two weeks and now, although at 7, can make some noise with a good stretch.

(8) SHANKAPOTOMOUS   3-12  - SHANKA   despite having top tier talent, jus hasn't had the season they wanted so far; can they turn it around?

(9) SETTING DUCKS   3-12  -  The DUCKS   will look to get back on track tonight and see if they move up the LIGA ladder. They have been playing better each week

(10)  GORDON    1-14   - GORDON   will try to take its new talent and grab some much needed wins tonight.  They have been more competitive but still lack the cohesion to be higher up.

Week 5 Headlines: Top 3 seeds all lose; One teams "Predicts" their win and does it

Here's the LIGA Headlines  & Rankings After Week 5;

Top 3 Seeds all lose series -  In a twist of sorts, the top three seeds all fall making it interesting for the rest of the LIGA.

"Im Callin It"Award goes to-   ABSOLUTE POWER

This  squad Predicted their upset win before last weeks game - then did it!

Final Rosters must be in this week-
  No adding players, picking up subs from other teams, or any additional subbing after turning in your rosters this week. If you do u will be Subject to immediate forfeiture.

LIGA RANKINGS (after Week 5)

(1) MAKE UP SETS   10-2 -  After losing their first series of the week, they stay at #1 due to other teams losing. Can they bounce back?

(2) BIG DIGGS = GREAT SETS   12-3 -  BIG DIGGS took a tough one, but stays at 2. Will they be fully healthy this week?

(3) CHAOS   11-4   -  CHAOS also took a loss to a game NET LOVE squad. But they still stay in good shape despite the loss.

(4) NET LOVE   10-5  -  NET LOVE  played well last week, beating a tough CHAOS team in a heated battle.  They stay in good condition to possibly win a LIGA title.

(5) WEASELS   9-6  -  WEASELS have started to play well in the last two weeks, and could be hitting their playoff stride. Can they move up into Top 4?

(6) SET TO KILL   7-8 -   STK won a big series last week, looking like the team that won the Regular season LIGA last year.  They are a dangerous team, and are capable of a big string of Ws, which they could use coming down stretch.

(7)  ABSOLUTE POWER  6-9  -  POWER showed why they could be a team nobody wants to face, after shutting down BIGG DIGGS last week. Not to mention the fact that they boasted that they would do it, and then did it...

Gotta salute and watch out for this team

(8) MONEY TEAM   4-8  - MONEY squad  finally put it together to get a big sweep and move up the standings. Can they keep it up and move even farther up the LIGA?

(9) HIT FACED   5-10  HIT FACED lost a tough one last week, and falls a spot.  Can they regroup before the playoff begins.

(10)  VOLLEY OLLEY OXEN FREE    0-15  -  VOLLEY OLLEY was close to a W, but hasn't got it yet.

(1) MAKE UP SETS   (9-0) (Wed)  -
  MAKE UP has been dominant in the first 3 weeks. Can they keep it up? Right now, they look unstoppable.

(2) CHAOS    (10-2) (Wed)  -
  CHAOS,  despite the loss last week, they still remain at the top of the charts after winning 9 straight. They will bounce back, as they always do.

(3) ONE HIT W ONDERS   (11-1)(Thur)  -

 ONE HIT  has  been very dominant in the LIGA and they could be a team that walks away with the title. Still early, but they have dominated up to date.
Could they be the team to beat?


(4) BIG DIGGS = GREAT SETS  (10-2)(Wed)  - 
 BIG DIGGS  has  been lighting up the scoreboard and setting the tone for the season. they could easily be at the top of this list, and quite possibly will be by end season.

(5) BURKS   (9-3) (Thur) - 
 BURKS  is sitting in a good position despite the inconsistent lineup and injuries. They have the talent and ability to win it all.

(6) NET LOVE   (8-4) (Wed) -

 SUAB   was  in control until last week,  but will look to get back up the standings after a great first 3 weeks. can suab get back to the Liga championship form that they had?

(8) CHILL N SERVE  (7-5) (Thurs)  - 
 CNS    started out like lightning, but has had a little bit of trouble the last two weeks. Can they right the ship and get back on track?

(9) HOME SCHOOLERS  (7-5) (Thurs) - SCHOOLERS   look to be getting on track again, after starting slow in the season. don't be surprised if this team moves higher up this list and into championship contention by the end of the regular season.

(10) WEASELS (7-5) (Wed) -  The WEASELS  Had a good week and are headed back up the rankings after a fast start and a rough couple of weeks. the talent is there, can they put it all together?


(11) SMACK YA BALLS  (6-6) (Thurs) - SMACK YA BALLS 
  will look to get back on track after losing last weekend. they have been competitive in every game but can't quite get on a winning streak to move up the ladder. can they find that winning streak they need?

(12) SET TO KILL  (5-7) (Wed)  - STK
 hasn't been this low in the standing for a long time, but look for them to make a move up the charts in the second half of the season.  the talent is there can make shake off the inconsistency?

(13) DAKOTA REALTY  (5-7) (Thurs) - DAKOTA 
 can Dakota Realty move up the ladder? They've been up and down this season, their first in the Liga. can they ramp it up for the second half?

(14)  HIT FACED  (4-8) (Wed)  - HIT FACED 
 has been struggling a little bit, but has found a rhythm in the last 2 weeks. can hit Face continue to move upwards after starting 0-6?

(15) ABSOLUTE POWER  (4-8) (Wed) - POWER 
 had a nice week last week, and has the skills to make a move towards the upper end of the Liga. they've been a little inconsistent, but last week was the first in which they had their full squad together. they went 2-1.

(16) SHANKAPOTOMOUS  (3-9) (Thurs) - SHANKA
 must get on track as it has been a tough early season. With their captain sidelined, can Shanka rise up and move up the standings?

(17) SETTING DUCKS  (2-10) (Thurs) - SETTING DUCKS 
The dogs got a much-needed series win last week, and move up the standings. Can they get another one this week?

(18) MONEY TEAM (1-8) (Wed)  - MONEY TEAM 
 Can the Money Team move up to the middle of the pack? With inconsistent play and get the right rhythm to make a move?

(19) GORDON (1-11)  (Thurs) -  GORDON 
Can team GORDON  continue its winning ways this week? and will be looking for their first series victory this week.

(20) VOLLEY OLLEY OXEN  (0-12) (Wed) - VOLLEY OLLEY
Can  get a much needed W this week? they've been really close.

As we hit mid-season we take a look at how all the teams are faring in the Thursday West Carrollton volleyball Liga. Is our rankings after week 3: 

Can SUAB win it all? 

(1) SERVING UP A BUZZ -   8-1

SUAB  as they are affectionately known, swept some tough games last week and are still at the top of the class in the LIGA. Can they get back To prominence?

(2) ONE HIT WONDERS   -  8-1 

The WONDERS of the LIGA are definitely not a one series wonder as they have shown that they will be a major contender for the title. 

(3) CHILL N SERVE    -   6-3 

After being atop the polls, CNS took a tough series L last week, but still has come out firing.

Could it be a championship season for CNS?

(4)  SMACK YA BALLS  -   6-3  

  SYB has been a surprise this season, and after a nice series win last week, SMACK YA could be on a title chase. 

(5) BURKS    -    6-3 

Team BURKS  has started to get on track and looks  to be moving up the ladder. they have championship experience, so I don't think that they will be rattled coming down the stretch. the only question is, will they have enough continuity to pull it off?

(6) HOME SCHOOLERS  -  4-5 

SCHOOLERS look to get back in sync after a tough two week stretch. They actually have played well, which could be in their favor tnite; can the SCHOOLERS get it rolling? 

(7) SHANKAPOTOMOUS  -   3-6

SHANKA won their first series of the season and usually starts slow, but finish strong. Can they move up the charts as the season progresses? 

(8) DAKOTA REALTY  -  3-6

After a fast start, REALTY has been in a slump. Can they knock off the last couple weeks and get back on the board? 

(9) SETTING DUCKS   -  1-8 

The DUCKS got a big W last week in their last game; can they take that momentum and grab a series W in week 4? 

(10) GORDON  -  0-9 

Will this be the week GORDON gets on the board?  They have been battling hard, almost winning a couple games; but need a W to get the team rolling.

 As we hit mid-season, it's time to look at the Top Teams in the LIGA and the Rankings:

LIGA RANKINGS (After Week 3)

(1) CHAOS   9-0

CHAOS won 3 huge games last week to say undefeated and continue to lead the LIGA. They will be tested in the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned.


(2) BIG DIGGS = GREAT SETS   8-1
 BD=GS  pulled out the series of the night in a sweep of top seeded NET LOVE. They look like a real contender for the LIGA Title.


(3) MAKE UP SETS   6-0
MAKE UP is picking up right where they left off last season, and have one thing on their agenda - LIGA Championship

(4) NET LOVE     6-3
NET LOVE had a rough week but still have the horses to get back to the top; Can they bounce back this week?


(5) SET TO KILL   4-5
 STK grinded out a big series With last week, and seem to be rounding into championship form, after shaking off a rough start.


(6)  WEASELS   4-5
 WEASELS drop a spot after a bad week 3. After a good week 1, they need to get back in the series W column in order to move up the charts.


(7) HIT FACED (MUHLENCAMP)  3-6
  Now newly named HIT FACE came out and won all 3 last week  to move up the polls. HF has talent and could be a surprise team come stretch time.


(8) ABSOLUTE POWER   2-7
 ABSOLUTE got a win last week, but hasn't won a series this season. They have some talented players, but can they come together in the second half of the season?

(9) MONEY TEAM (PENNEY)   1-5
 The MONEY TEAM had some close games, hut haven't had that breakthrough series yet. They have a skilled squad, and should make up some ground by end of regular season.


(10) VOLLEY OLLEY OXEN FREE   0-9
  VOLLEY OLLEY needs to get a win this week, as while they have been competitive but haven't gotten over the hump. Will tonight be the night?  Very possible.

With the Indoor Volleyball Season underway, let's recap what happened in the opening night (Wednesday)  in the West Carrollton YMCA Volleyballiga

TOP HEADLINES:

CHAOS, NET LOVE, BURGE start strong 
With championships in the stable, both teams seemed to reload and look to be ready for the long haul.

League will add 9th & 10th team this week
After a 8 team first week, 2 teams will be added to finish out season. This gives us full capacity for both leagues (20) and two more quality teams to the mix.

WEEK 1 RECAP:

CHAOS  sweeps TEAM McCaslin
CHAOS jumped out early and set the tone as they swept the newcomers and showed the former champs haven't went anywhere.

WEASELS   edge  ABSOLUTE POWER 2-1
A new squad with a slick name pulled out a close series win as this was the Game Of The Week.
POWER had a chance in game 3 but the WEASELS sprinted to the finish line to get the victory.

 BURGE   defeated  MUHLENCAMP 3-0 
With two new teams, although it was a sweep, the games was closer than the score indicated. Look for both teams to maybe be in the upper echelon of the league.

In what was a small surprise, NET LOVE was able to grab all 3 from the regular season champs and runner ups from last season.
Will be interesting to see how these teams end up.

Its Official - ID HIT THAT wins second consecutive LIGA Title

  Going into the LIGA 4 on Thursday, there was a sense of nervousness among ID HIT THAT. After another great regular season, there were a few questions that were unanswered. Such as:

(1) Sure, winning one is tough, but winning two in a row? Could they actually pull it off?


HIT THAT TOO Goes Back to back

(2) Could they play if pushed to their limits?
(3) Can they beat some of the hungrier squads who seem ready to grab a LIGA Title?


Well heres the Recap of the LIGA Championship

Semifinals

(1) ID HIT THAT    defeated    (4)  HIT THAT TOO  (2-0)

HIT THAT was tested by TOO but won both games late to move through. It looked at one point that  TOO would force a third game, but HIT THAT defeated its rival - again - and moved through.


(2) HOME SCHOOLERS      defeated    (3) CONSISTENT CHAOS   (2-0)

SCHOOLERS was able to win the key points as they won both games late (25-23  & 26-24)...CC had major opportunites to seize both games, but the SCHOOLERS gutted it out, and moved on to their first ever LIGA Championship. Noted, that in both games, CHAOS was able to grab a early lead, but SCHOOLERS went on a run mid-game to grab control late.


2015 LIGA Championship 

(1) ID HIT THAT     defeated    (2) HOME SCHOOLERS     (2-0)

ID HIT THAT came out refreshed and ready, and after a early battle, HIT THAT took control late and won the key first game, in which the SCHOOLERS seemed a little deflated. HIT THAT was dominant in the second game, although the SCHOOLERS kept fighting.
Ultimately it was too much HIT THAT as they was too strong, decisive, and calm and collected, and now have went back to back for the first time in their history.

After Thursday night, the resounding answer is YES after HIT THAT won their second consecutive LIGA title

MICHELLE wins Wed LIGA Championship; Thursday LIGA Final Four schedule, keys to victory

After all the hype, the buildup the anticipation, it came down to one night; as the Final 4 squads in the Wednesday LIGA battled it out.

Semi Finals  -


#5 MICHELLE defeats  #1 SET TO KILL  (2-1) 

STK came in winning every single series they played. But in this series, they were a half step slow on the draw, as they won the first series, but lost the next two as MICHELLE played extraordinary ball en route to a series win. In game 3 MICHELLE held a 4 point lead for latter part of game, and held strong. This marks the 3rd straight season the #1 seed did not win the tourney.

#2 NO NAMES  defeats  #3 DARKSIDE   (2-0)

DARKSIDE came in as champs, but without one of their top players and seemingly in regular season mode, it was NO NAMES who cruised through for the victory. NO NAMES was sharp, and was able to win in straight sets. DARKSIDE didn't really get into the series until the second game, and by then it was too late.

#5 MICHELLE defeats #2 NO NAMES  (2-0) 

MICHELLE gets 2nd LIGA Championship

In effort reminiscent of last years championship run, MICHELLE came out with so much energy and fire, that they took control early and basically dictated the game. NO NAMES could not match the intensity and lost both games within the first five minutes of the game. MICHELLE was on fire, and was able to cover ground defensively which was huge.
This is MICHELLE's second championship in last 5 seasons.

Defeated NOTHIN BUT NET  (2-0)

The defending champs will look to do something very few teams have done -which is win back to back championships. They had a easy one last week, but they have played dominant ball for the entire season. They have been challenged one time this season. KEYS TO VICTORY: They must stay focused for the entire night. If not? It could be a upset, because as talented as HIT THAT is, there are 3 other talented teams as well, waiting for the opportunity to take them out.


#2  HOME SCHOOLERS  
  Def. Chill N Serve  (2-0)

The "SCHOOLERS" have come into their own this season, amassing their best record and getting into LIGA 4 for consecutive seasons. Now can they go to another level? KEYS TO VICTORY: SCHOOLERS must not be overwhelmed by the moment, as the LIGA Championships are - in one word - intense. They have the talent, can they play through adversity and rise up?


#3 CONSISTENT CHAOS  
  Defeated  SHANKAPOTOMOUS  (2-0)
The CHAOS continues to blister through the season, and have a lot of momentum coming into semis after another great effort last week. Easily the hottest team in the LIGA. KEYS TO VICTORY: CC must stay in tune and focused, as they have seemingly gotten to the point where their team chemistry is possibly best in the LIGA. Also must have reserve energy tank, as it will be a grind to get LIGA Title.


#4 ID HIT THAT TOO
  Defeated SERVING UP A BUZZ  (2-1)
  Just when u think HIT THAT TOO can't possibly win? They get a W.  HIT THAT TOO ends up in the semis again after a classic 4 vs 5 battle in the first round, and will face its nemesis again - this time for a chance at the LIGA Championships. KEYS TO VICTORY:  HIT THAT TOO must take its game to another level and stay focused for entire series. They have the squad to do it. Can they make it happen?
