Week 6 LIGA Rankings (Wed & Thurs): Which team is soaring up the rankings? & Thurs Nite Schedule Change

Here's the newest official rankings for the LIGA (after Week 6); Also for Thursday teams, please check the NOTES section at bottom of page to see if this applies to your team.


TEAM OF THE WEEK:     NO NAMES - 9 straight wins put them as a squad to watch

NO NAMES continue to roll

LIGA RANKINGS

(1) ID HIT THAT              17-1  (Thurs)    HIT THAT continues to plow along, sweeping a huge series over a tough opponent

(2) SET TO KILL              14-4   (Wed)   STK  has won 6 straight; and seem to be playing with a swag that has them at top of LIGA

(3) HOME SCHOOLERS   13-5  (Thurs)  SCHOOLERS bounced back after two tough weeks with a big series win, staying in great position

(4) NO NAMES                  12-6  (Wed)   NO NAMES are the hottest team in the LIGA; After starting slow, they have won 9 straight games...and have a real shot at a LIGA title

(5)  DARKSIDE                 11-7  (Wed)  DARKSIDE has now won 3 straight series, and seem to be prepping for a title defense

(6) BALL BUSTERS       11-7   (Wed)   BB lost tough series, and moved down a couple spots, but still remains in good position for title run

(7) SERVING UP A BUZZ  10-8  (Thurs)  SUAB took a tough L last week to champs, but was missing a couple key players; can they bounce back?

(8) NET LOVE                10-8    (Wed)  NET LOVE bounced back with a huge sweep to move back into top 8 - and gain some much needed momentum for the stretch run

(9) ID HIT THAT TOO    10-8  (Thurs)  HIT THAT TOO also had a very good week, pushing them over the .500 mark and maybe signaling a team ready to play

(10) CONSISTENT CHAOS  9-9  (Thurs)  CC has been nails tough makin after a 0-6 start, and now look to be in thick of LIGA

(11) MICHELLE           8-10  (Wed)  MICHELLE has been on a tough slide, and needs some wins to get back on track.

(12) SHANKAPOTOMOUS   8-10 (Thurs) SHANKA has been up and down, and despite tough games, lost last week to fall under .500

(13) CHILL N SERVE       5-13  (Thurs)  CNS took a tough one after a good week, will look to bounce back

(14) ROBERTS                   4-14  (Wed)  ROBERTS lost some heartbreaking games last week; but has enough talent to get on a winning streak

(15) SOME LIKE IT HOT    3-15  (Wed)  HOT will look to get back in W column tonight

(16) NOTHIN BUT NET     0-18   NBN will look to get some much needed W's tonight.

          THIS WEEK ONLY -    9pm TEAMS will be play at 6pm, and VICE VERSA.

Can ID HIT THAT continue the dominance?

(1) ID HIT THAT      14-1   HIT THAT has continued to dominate (although missing perfection), and would be a force in either LIGA; Will they get complacent or will they keep up their championship intensity?


(2)  SET TO KILL     11-4  STK has shown they will be a major player when its all said and done, winning all 5 of its LIGA Matches in its first season

(3) HOME SCHOOLERS  11-4  While the SCHOOLERS have lost 4 of last 6, they played the Champs and stood their own; Could they grab their first LIGA Championship?

(4) BALL BUSTERS   10-5  BB has been consistently dominant this season, and could take it all; can they stay focused?

(5) SERVING UP A BUZZ   10-5  SUAB has started to find its stride; but can they continue to keep pushing towards another title?

(6) DARKSIDE               9-6   DARKSIDE has been layin low under the radar, like they did last season, before suprising the field and winning the LIGA; could it happen again?

(7) NO NAMES             9-6    NO NAMES  has shook off the bad start and find themselves in top part of LIGA; which team will show up come the end of this season? they have been on fire, winning 7 of last 9

(8) MICHELLE             8-7    Two weeks ago MICHELLE was the hottest team in the LIGA....now, can they stay afloat in the upper echelon? Or will lack of consistency hurt them?

(9) SHANKAPOTOMOUS   7-8   SHANKA has played up and down, and until they can put together a string of wins and consistency, they might stay in the middle of the pack

(10) ID HIT THAT TOO      7-8   HIT THAT TOO also is a team mired by inconsistencies, but could be the scariest team out there. When they're all on the court that is....

(11) NET LOVE                7-8   NET LOVE just cant find the rhythm that has carried them to LIGA championships this season...Can they right the ship before playoffs?

(12) CONSISTENT CHAOS   6-9  CC has been on the upswing, but coming out the gate slow has hurt them; Nevertheless, they have enough weapons to make a deep run

(13) CHILL N SERVE       5-10      CNS started strong, then got on a losing streak, then is back to playing better; Which CNS squad will show up for rest of season?

(14) ROBERTS                 4-11   ROBERTS has been playing tough ball, winning in each of last series; Could they be a sleeper team for the playoffs?

(15)  SOME LIKE IT HOT   3-12    Easily one of the most talented teams on paper, HOT jus hasn't been able to get it right; Still has the ability to surprise in the tourney

(16) NOTHIN BUT NET     0-15   NBN will be looking to get on scoreboard tonight; they are primed for some W's

With the Mid-Season here in the LIGA and the playoffs looming here are the Studs, Duds, Shocks, and notes of our Thursday League:


STUDS: ID HIT THAT:
 Can ID HIT THAT claim perfection? 
Since winning the LIGA Title last season, HIT THAT has cruised to 12 straight; last season, they didn't achieve perfection, but as they head into strectch run, can they stay composed and accomplish what only few teams ever have?

DUDS: ID HIT THAT TOO
HIT THAT TOO has so much potential that they could (A) win it all;  or (B) lose in the 1st round.....They are a enigma, as they play well when u don't expect it, and sometimes coast...Can HIT THAT hit the ignition button and get a LIGA championship?







LIGA RANKINGS (after Week 4)

(1) ID HIT THAT             12-0        HIT THAT has been unstoppable, with a seemingly easy flair to their game; Can they ride their momentum and dominance to another LIGA Title?

(2) HOME SCHOOLERS   10-2     SCHOOLERS has been dominant for the most part, in which their new players have played well, and the fact they play at full speed from start to finish, which wears their opponent down...Can they show enough experience to capture the LIGA title?

(3) SERVING UP A BUZZ    7-5  Since rejoining LIGA after being crowned champs last year, SUAB has been in top of LIGA...Although not as dominant as before, they still have shown they will be contenders come March.

(4) SHANKAPOTOMOUS     6-6    SHANKA has been consistently inconsistent, which is why they sit right in the middle of the LIGA...Injuries have hurt the team, but team still has weapons to get to the LIGA finals

(5) ID HIT THAT TOO       5-7    HIT THAT TOO has a good team, but a couple different parts and not having a consistent 6 has hurt them in the standings....However, they did reach the LIGA Championship, and they have enough talent to get back

(6) CONSISTENT CHAOS  5-7   CC has been playing very well in the last 2 weeks and could be a sleeper come playoff time...After finally settling with a lineup, they have won their last two series, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them move up the rankings by playoff time

(7)  CHILL N SERVE     3-9    CNS started fast, but has ran into trouble in recent weeks...if they can get their lineup together and get in rhythm, they could make a move.

(8) NOTHIN BUT NET  0-12    NBN has been playing better since moving into league...They have the players to win games, but they must change mentality from START...Always a tough matchup for any opponent

YMCA Super Volleyballiga Midseason Recap: Suprises, Studs Duds and More!

 As we head into 2nd half the super competitive YMCA Volleyball LIGA, here are our surprises, studs and duds of the LIGA;
 
Surprises:  SET TO KILL, Competitive Balance

• STK came to the LIGA looking for a challenge, as their previous leagues didn't hold a challenge for them; and right now, they have established themselves as a championship contender with a 8-4 record - good for 2nd place; 

  

  Can STK go all the way?

• After losing the worst two teams in the Wed LIGA and adding STK, the league actually got Better; Every week you must battle to win the series, and note: former LIGA champions are currently in the bottom half of the standings

STUDS: BALL BUSTERS

BB has shown improvement every season, and this could be the year they achieve a LIGA Championship; They seem focused, and have enough talent to maybe hoist their first title in 2015


SHOCKERS: NET LOVE, DARKSIDE

• Where is the LOVE? Former champs cant seem to find their rhythm, but as everyone knows - its not how you start, but how u finish
• After winning a tough LIGA Title last season, seems that newly named DARKSIDE has taken a dark turn- towards mediocrity; Are they prepping for a title defense, or will they stay in the middle of the pack?

MIDSEASON STANDINGS

(1) BALL BUSTERS    9-3   BB has taken the top spot in the LIGA and has shown they will be a force come March;

(2) SET TO KILL         8-4    STK has won every series they've played in this season; hence, their record;

(3) MICHELLE            8-4    MICHELLE falls from 1 to 3 after rough week; but make no mistake this team has all the tools to win it all

(4) DARKSIDE             6-6     Look for LIGA Champs to ramp it up in second half of the season

(5) NO NAMES             6-6   NO NAMES put together their best series of the season last week

(6) NET LOVE              5-7     Can NET LOVE put together a string of good games in stretch run?

(7) ROBERTS                 4-8     ROBERTS  defeated champs last week, and are on the rise

(8) SOME LIKE IT HOT  3-9  HOT must get hot soon if they want to move up standings
