Week 2 Recap: Champs fall in 2nd straight week; Team of the Week is.....Kicks of the Week

Heres what happened in Week 2 of the West Carrollton YMCA Volleyballiga (Wednesday night)

Can TQL continue its hot play?

SNYDER sweeps SERVING UP A BUZZ -
      Team SNYDER (4-2) pulled out a big sweep over SERVING UP A BUZZ, who were playing their initial opener in week 2.

ROBERTS turned in a big time performance in Week 2 

ROBERTS pulls past champs
      Team ROBERTS (4-2) held off TEAM WILKEN (SETS MACHINE) in a 3 set thriller in which ROBERTS was able to win a decisive game 3 with a  late spurt. Team WILKEN now falls to 2-4 in early season. Championship hangover maybe?


TQL continues its hot play
      TQL continued to show why they could be a favorite for a run at the LIGA Championship with a sweep over FOREST BUMP. TQL moves to 5-1 while BUMP falls to 0-6.

OFF CONSTANTLY slides by BRAND
  OFF CONSTANTLY was able to hold off a tough BRAND squad, and run its record to 5-1....BRAND was in the game until the final seconds, but not able to seal the deal.

BRAND sweeps GILLMAN 
  Team BRAND bounced back in its doubleheader to sweep GILLMAN and move to 6-3 on the season. GILLMAN falls to 1-5


TEAM OF THE WEEK:  ROBERTS
 Defeating the champs in what was the game of the week garners this award.

Fall League Week 1 Recap (Wednesday); Champs knocked off; One team undefeated

 As we get ready for another
strong fall indoor league, here's the Week 1 Results from Wednesday night in the West Carrollton Volleyballiga:

TEAM SNYDER knocks off Champs in Week 1

(1) OFF CONSTANTLY handles biz against FOREST BUMP - 
 OFF CONSTANTLY came out on a mission, and was able to defeat FOREST BUMP 3-0. The first game was close, but OC showed that last year was last year, and there ready to make a run. FOREST played solid, but couldn't get the run they needed to snatch the momentum.

The only squad to get all 3 in Week 1; are they on a mission?

(2)  TQL survives big matchup vs Gillman- 
 TQL used their size and energy to pull out a 3 set thriller on Wednesday night. Both teams won a game, with TQL finishing strong to get the series win 2-1. GILLMAN has a nice team, and will be a strong team.

(3) ROBERTS defeat SNYDER late to seal deal- 
  TEAM ROBERTS used a late run in game 3 to take home the series win against SNYDER. Both teams battled to the end, but ROBERTS were able.to make some key plays late to seal the deal and win series
 2-1.

(4) CHAMPS knocked off by BRAND - 
 TEAM WILKEN came in feeling good, but was suprised during the Season Opener as TEAM BRAND pulled out a huge game 3 win to take the series 2-1. In what was a big game 3, BRAND did enough to take home a big Week 1 victory and shake up the landscape early.
