With Team DAVIS winning the Wednesday LIGA Championship, we now turn to our explosive Thursday night LIGA and the Final Four that goes down tonight. We will give you the

#7 TQL defeats  #10 VIVIAL
TQL was able to stop VIVIAL in 2 sets, moving on to the quarterfinals

#9 CEREAL KILLERS upsets #8 SHANKAPOTOMOUS
KILLERS was sharp in all phases, knocking off SHANKA in 2 sets and moving on to the Final 8

#2 FAWLEY outlasts #7 TQL 
Team FAWLEY was able to stop a game TQL team, who has been to a couple of LIGA Final 4 themselves. FAWLEY was just too strong overall and moves on to its first LIGA Final 4.



#1 PENNEY holds off  #9 CEREAL KILLERS in 3-set thriller
Team PENNEY has rode a wave of success and it was nearly ended in a 3-set barnburner against CEREAL KILLERS. PENNEY came in not on top of its game, and if not for the heroics of the squad holding off 3-game points by KILLERS in set 3? Upset of the decade.
However, the champs showed no quit and its cool under the most intense pressure got them their most grueling playoff win in a while.



#3 SCHOOLERS survive #6 HOPSTERS upset bid
The HOPSTERS were game for a upset; however, SCHOOLERS shook off a tough battle and won a 3-set clash, which featured plenty of ups and downs for both teams.

#4 HOW I SET YA MAMA gets to 2nd straight Final Four, knocks off #5 SUAB
MAMA and SUAB faced off in the proverbial 4-5 matchup which has brought some epic games in the Volleyballiga; On this night MAMA won set 1, and SERVING UP A BUZZ showed the heart of a former champ in winning Set 2. But in Set 3 it was HOW I SET YA MAMA who went on a game clinching run midway through the set to move to its 2nd consecutive Final Four.

PENNEY has been unstoppable for nearly 3 seasons, amassing a 77-set winning streak, winning back to back titles and living their best life in the process.
 However, this season saw them lose the streak and almost lose last week to a focused #9 seed CEREAL KILLERS team.
Can PENNEY avoid the pitfalls that happen to champions and win its 3rd straight title?

#2 FAWLEY 
FAWLEY has been dynamic all season, and has all the tools to win the LIGA Title; From the start of the season they have been at  or near the top of the LIGA standings. With a real chance to grab the title, can they withstand the rigors of the LIGA Final 4 and win it all?

#3 SCHOOLERS
SCHOOLERS have came a long way in a 3 season span; So much so, that they feel like this could be the season. They have been downright dominant for most of the season.
With improved players across the board, a style of play few can match, and the hunger to get it done? Could this be the season of triumph?

#4 HOW I SET YA MAMA 
MAMA has been climbing the ladder as well over the last couple seasons, and without a doubt has earned a spot in the Final Four. With a squad steadily improving as well, is this the season MAMA has the breakout performance to remember?

Yeet showed why they will ne  a real force to be reckoned with, defeating their opponent like they did in earlier weeks. Can YEET rise up to the challenge after being ranked #1 for over 5 weeks?



TRIMBLE  5-1 

While Trimble is in its 4th consecutive LIGA Final Four, this could be a tough one, as the inconsistency showed up in Week 1 of the playoffs. While losing a top setter, they still have the pieces to win it all.








NEW KIDS OTB  7-1 
New Kids OTB have shown great progress this season, and ended up in the Final Four for the 2nd consecutive season.
Can they act on it and shock the world in being the 1st ever 4 seed to win it

Heres the Recap for 1st Round Playoff Action in the Volleyballiga (Wednesday):

#1 DAVIS shows no weaknesses in quarterfinal win

Team DAVIS showed no signs of slowing down as the top seed took down BUMP SET HOES in 2 sets. 
DAVIS handled business and showed in order to knock off the top seed it will take a big time effort.

#2 TRIMBLE survives in 3 sets vs #7 SHORTIES
Team TRIMBLE, a team who almost garnered the top seed, almost lost to the SHIT SHORTIES who came out and won set 1. TRIMBLE would win set 2 easily, and in the 3rd set it took a late burst to put the series away and move to the Final Four.

#3 YEET able to handle biz vs #6 WEASELS
TEAM YEET came out firing on all cylinders, and left nothing for the taking against the veteran squad WEASELS winning in 2 sets. YEET seems upset that they let the #1 seed slip from their hands.

#4 NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK outlasts #5 CNS to make 1st LIGA Final Four
With both teams having a real chance to reach its first LIGA Final Four?

PENNEY was the best team in the LIGA, for the 3rd season in a row. However, they lost their 77 game winning streak, and they will be severely tested in this tournament. They have been unstoppable this season for the most part, and have dynamic players all over the court.

FAWLEY   19-2
TEAM FAWLEY has shown all season they they will be a force to be reckoned with. With some fresh faces who are ready to seize the opportunity,  FAWLEY is unbeatable once the engine gets revved up.

SCHOOLERS  15-6 
The SCHOOLERS is a team that they can beat anyone but must stay in tune. A team that has came a long way, and plays with a engine most teams dont have.

MAMA has shown they have the horses to compete with the best; but the late entry and the roller coaster of a season left MAMA at the 4 spot. Will they reach their 3rd consecutive LiGA Final Four?

Team SUAB once again showed its late muscle, moving up the ladder despite a tough early season to get to the infamous 4-5 game. A former Champ, can they get the consistency needed to get to the Final Four?

HOPSTERS are the team with the Tower of Power, the 7ft baller. However the Tower must dominate if the Hopsters are to advance. A team with a lot of upside, and when in winning mode, can be a dangerous team.

TQL  7-14 
TQL a team who has had success in the LIGA, reaching a Title Game, has started to play better of late, and could be a team ready to make a splash come playoff time. Have one of the best ladies in the LIGA in 2-way player Mallory Hall.

SHANKAPOTOMOUS    6-15 
SHANKA has had a tough season, but still has the talent and skillset to get back to the LIGA Final Four. If Jared B can ked the troops into playoff mode, we could see a higher seed falling to this squad.

CEREAL KILLERS  5-16 
TEAM KILLERS looking to suprise some teams come playoff time. As the KILLERS will look to Reach the Final four for the first time. CK has some talent no doubt. Can they go next level and get to the Final Four with the energetic bunch they have?

VIVIAL.    4-17 
VIVIAL  competed hard this season, and even showed glimpses in a few series. However the inconsistencies in the lineup proved too much to overcome. Now that the LIGA final Four spot on the line, can VIVIAL do the damn thing and knock off the big dog to get there?

DAVIS   (17-4)   
Davis WEEK 1 win over TRIMBLE secured the #1 seed, and they started and ended the season with a bang to win the LIGA Regular season Title.
A team with great cohesion and athleticism and plays on edge.
LIGA Title Chances: 2-1


TRIMBLE   (17-4) 
Trimble, after week 1, could arguably say they were the best team in the LIGA. A team that ca. Change pace, swing and dig with the best of them.
Consistently in the top 4 for the last 4 seasons.
With all their weapons in tow? Watch out.

YEET   (17-4)  
Yeet was in the top spot for most of the season, but lost 3 of 6 games to lose the top spot and end at #3, including the final series. However the talent, desire, and development is undeniable and, no team will have more to prove in this tourney.

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK  (11-10) 
NKOTB had a good season despite the last week. They are a legit title contender and should he primed for a Final four run. They have hitters on both sides and have a gear few can reach once they reach their zone.
LIGA Title Chances: 6-1


CHILL N SERVE   (8-13)  
CNS moved to 5 spot after big finish, which caps a season filled with ups and downs. But CNS is playing at its best level since the team started, and with the youtful exuberance, could end up in the Final Four on a good night.

WEASELS  (8-13)
The WEASELS  havent had the consistency of earlier seasons, despite the talent thats at the top of the LIGA. Can they find the juice this late in the season to move to the final four? Some nights they have been vintage; others? Not so much.

SHIT SHORTIES  (7-14)   
SHIT SHORTIES has been rock solid in some games, but always competing at a high level, win or lose. This could be a positive come playoffs, as they have a winner mentality all season. Can the SHORTIES do what it takes to get to the LIGA final four?

BUMP SET HOES  (2-19)
BSH have been more competitive than they ever have, considering how tough the LIGA was. However, the inconsistency with the team hurt its chances to compete for a higher seed.

Team DAVIS showed they are ready for the playoffs with 3-set sweeps over SHIT SHORTIES  & NEW KIDS OTB. With the wins team DAVIS put themselves in a 3-way tie for 1st place.

CNS came out firing on all cylinders with a sweep of BUMP SET HOES.

YEET rallies to defeat DAVIS in 1 vs 2 Battle 
The top 2 teams in the  Wednesday LIGA Battled it out in post Thanksgiving play;
DAVIS won set 1 and was leading in set 2 when YEET turned up the heat, changed the momentum and went on to win set 2 and 3 to win the series and stay #1 in the LIGA poll.


TRIMBLE  continues to roll
Team TRIMBLE won 3 more to stay in position for another LIGA Regular Season Championship. The wins move them to 15-3 on the season.

SHIT SHORTIES handle biz 
The SHORTIES  took no prisoners in getting a 3-set sweep over BUMP SET HOES. With the win SHORTIES move up the ladder.

CHILL N SERVE slides past WEASELS 
CNS won set 1, then watched the WEASELS take control of the game until late in the 3rd set when, down 17-11, went on a game clinching run to upset the WEASELS.

Mid-Season Report (Wednesday LIGA): Week 5 Recap; TEAM OF THE WEEK

As we reach the midseason point of  the Wednesday Fall Volleyballiga, here are the
 LIGA Rankings as we hit Week 5 of the Season:

Rankings (After Week 5)

(1) YEET         (14-1)    Won 8  Straight 
   YEET has been playing at a high rate and has shown they have to be taken as a title contender. The young guns have developed nicely over the season. Is this their year?

(2) TRIMBLE   (12-3)  Lost 1    
TRIMBLE has played at their normal top 4 pace. But seemingly with the confidence that they could win it all. A team who nobody wants to face right now. Keeping the engine going is their only falter.

(3) DAVIS     (10-2)    Won 4
 DAVIS has put together a blistering start which has them in the 2 spot. They haven't lost a series all season and has the horses to win it all.

(4) NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK. (10-2)  Lost 1
 NKOTB has been on point from Week 1, and play with the energy that has them knocking on the door of the #1 spot.

(5) WEASELS    (4-11) Lost 1   
WEASELS move up with a solid week; Can this team turn it around before the playoffs?

(6) SHIT SHORTIES (4-11)  Lost 6 
SHORTIES have played with energy but have been a little inconsistent. Can they turn up and move up the ladder as we hit the home stretch of the season?

(7) CHILL N SERVE  (2-13)  Won 1 
In a slow early start , can a wily and veteran CNS squad find its groove?

(8) BUMP SET HOES    (1-14)   Won 1 
BUMP SET got their 1st W in last nights game. Can they take that momentum and continue its posititive play?

Shankapotomous showed out in the first series winning all 3 sets en route to a big win. VIVIAL was competitive but couldnt seal the deal on game 1.

The SCHOOLERS were hitting on all cylinders, albeit shorthanded- in a 3 set sweep of CEREAL KILLERS.
SCHOOLERS have had some hot starts on earlier seasons.

With 2 new teams being added to the Thursday VolleyballLIGA, that brings the total to 10.

Games will now be on a 21-21-15 basis UNLESS:

(1) Games are running on time or early.
(2) Playoffs or Playoff Implications (later in season)

In these cases, games will be played to 21.

Game Times will be as printed here (Starting in Week 3):

Series 1 - 6 pm - 6:45
Series 2 - 6:45 - 7:30  
Series 3 - 7:30 - 8:15
Series 4 - 8:15 - 9pm
Series 5 - 9pm - 9:45 

Its only a slight adjustment to the schedule times, so just make a note:

Team UNDECIDED knocks off CHILL N SERVE  3-0
In the First Series of yhe night, Tean UNDECIDED was able to knock off CNS in a 3 set sweep.
While the games were competitive, UNDECDIED played a little more in tune for the series sweep.

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK holds off BUMP SET HOES
NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK was able to use the new season to get a jump start on the LIGA, with a big 3 set sweep of BUMP SET HOES.
BSH was leading in the first set when NKOTB went on a run to grab the lead late and win the 1st series.
They used that momentum to grab next 2 sets and start 3-0 on the season.

TEAM DAVIS stops TRIMBLE in the GAME OF THE WEEK
In a Matchup that featured 2 of the best in the LIGA, DAVIS was able to knock off early season favorites TRIMBLE 2-1 in the season opener.

DAVIS won the first game, TRIMBLE got revenge in set 2 but DAVIS sealed the win in Set 3 to win the series.

Team YEET upends WEASELS in tense battle 
TEAM YEET  upends WEASELS in tense battle
One of the newly formed squads, TEAM YEET, came out on fire with a big series sweep over the tough WEASELS team.
YEET set the tone in set 1, then WEASELS held leads in Set 2 and 3, to no avail,  as the upstart sqaud came on fast late to win all 3 sets.
