It's OFFICIAL; ROBERTS takes home Championship; Tonight's Final Four Matchups, Party Info

After all was said and done, Team ROBERTS was able to handle business and win a champiomship. How did they get it done? Here's the Recap of Last Night's Games:

Semifinals 
(1) ROBERTS downs OFF CONSTANTLY in 2 sets 
 Team ROBERTS was challenged by the upstart CONSTANTLY in both games, but ROBERTS was able to come back late in Game 1 after being down for a good portion of the 1st set.
 The 2nd game was just as close, but team ROBERTS had a little too much to hold OFF CONSTANTLY.

(3) TQL  upends  (2) BRAND  in 3 set comeback 
 TQL pulled off a huge comeback after losing the 1st set to stun the 2 seed BRAND in a heck of a gsme. BRAND controlled the 1st set and was headed to a win in the 2nd when all of a sudden TQL found another gear and was able to snatch the 2nd game, giving them new life.
In set 3 TQL took that momentum and ran with it to their first ever LIGA Championship game.


CHAMPIONSHIP 
(1) ROBERTS defeats (3) TQL in 2 sets 
 ROBERTS looked to be a little slow out the gate in game 1, as TQL  took a lead midway through the game. However, ROBERTS regained momentum late in Game 1, won the Set and never looked back en route to their first ever LIGA Championship.

(2) LANGE - LANGE has become the team that have reached almost full potential after watching them a year ago and saying "What if"....With a MVP and Most Improved Player of the Year Candidate, along with a song cast, this could be the year for LANGE.
Can they outlast their competitors?

(3) CONSTANT CHAOS - THE CHAOS have been blistering hot since week 3 and could be the sleeper of the Championship. With talent, experience, and a team playing with great synergy?
Could be the year of the CHAOS.
Odds: 4-1

(4) SET-SY & WE KNOW IT -  SET-SY was able to outlast BACK SETS for a spot into Final Four, and quite honestly, could be the emotional favorite coming into  final four. A vibrant team, who hasn't reached max potential yet, but has a MVP type performer and a lot of upside. Can SET-SY take another leap into a Championship trophy?

(1) ROBERTS - They have been the most consistent team all season, and they have all the tools to get it done. If they stay with the formula they have used all season, they have a very good shot at hoisting the championship.

(2) BRAND - Team BRAND have been on point all season as well, and almost as consistent as the top team. Team BRAND will need the energy, and to be focused for the entire series in order to have a good chance to win it all. They have MVP type talent, can they get it done?

(3) TQL  - Easily the most imposing team, physically in the tourney. With a big time big man and a female who can shut down the net, they have all the ingredients for a championship. Can they withstand the heat and be able to perform at the level they need to grab the LIGA Championship?

(5) OFF CONSTANTLY  - CONSTANT pulled off a big win last week against its rival, and now sit in the final four. The vibe and energy with this team is 2nd to none, and they have gotten better since the beginning of the season. Can they find that extra gear and grab that elusive championship?

Final Four set on Thursday; 1st Round Recap: Semifinal Schedule

After a crazy Thursday night of action, here's the recap of what happened in the 1st round.

The LIGHTNING get to LIGA Final Four

(10) SHANKAPOTOMOUS upsets (9) BUMP SET HOES
 SHANKA  played tough ball in the defeat of BUMP SET HOES. Shanka won in 2 games.

(7) BUMP SET PSYCH squeezes past (8) CHILL N SERVE 
BSP got their first LIGA tournament win with a 2 set sweep over CNS.

(1) LAZY LIGHTING defeat (10) SHANKA  
The LIGHTNING was able to hold off a game SHANKA squad to almost pulled out Game 2 to force a game 3.

(2) LANGE cruise to next round 
Team LANGE started slow, but finished fast and knocked off BUMP SET PSYCH in 2 sets.

(3) CONSTANT CHAOS holds off (6) EUDORA HOPSTERS 
Constant Chaos continues to blister through the LIGA, with another big win to move into semis.

(4) SET-SY  & WE KNOW IT outlasts  (5) BABY GOT BACK SETS 
In the GAME OF THE WEEK, SET-SY won in a epic matchup, which featured SET SY win game 1, followed by a easy bounce back win for BACK SETS, which setup pivotal game 3. SET-SY  finished the game strong and was able hold off BACK SETS in the latter stages to move to their first ever LIGA Semifinal.

Wedesday 1st Round Recap: Top 3 Seeds advance; Champs ousted; Tonights 1st Round Playoff Matchups, Odds

Here's the Recap / Headlines of Wednesdays 1st Round:

Team BRAND going for the Slam in 1st round matchup

Top 3 Seeds Advance
    Team ROBERTS, BRAND, and TQL all answered the bell in the quarterfinals. While all 3 were tested, they all advanced in 2 games.

#1 seed ROBERTS defeated SERVING UP A BUZZ (2-0) in the quarterfinals after SUAB defeated Forrest Bump in the 8-9 game.

#2 seed BRAND defeated GILLMAN in two tough sets, while #3 seed TQL survived a tough series against a game SNYDER team.


Champions defeated by Rival as MACHINE goes down
      #5 seed OFF CONSTANTLY lost to #4 SETS MACHINE late in the season, and felt like they could win if they seen the champs again after a tough battle.
      Well they got their wish, and was able to comeback and win a 3-set thriller. SETS MACHINE looked as if they would move on, roaring back in game 1 to take the game....only to be undone in the 2nd half of Game 3 by a blistering display of winning volleyball by CONSTANTLY.
It was a microcosm of the season for the champs, who couldn't quite get on track this season.

Lazy Lightning    -  3:2  The LIGHTNING have struck opponents all season. They need to keep playing high level and doing what they have done all season.

Lange     -    4:1   LANGE has all the tools to win, but will they be equipped to win it all when it counts?

Constant Chaos  - 6:1  Chaos have been on a roll lately; If they continue their hot trend, they should be in final four

Set Sy- & We Know It  - 5:1  SET-SY could do some serious damage and are a championship contender,  if they can find a way to get to the Final Four. They have had a very good season.

Baby Got Back Sets -  7:1 Back Sets will have to get the juice back and must have the entire squad ready to go in order to compete for the championship.

Eudora Hopsters  - 7:1 Hopsters have a intriguing team, full of talent, but can they put it all together? If so, they could get to final four.

Bump Set Psych!  - 10:1 BSP must get thru tough evening, but have the talent to do so. Dangerous team, having a breakout season.

Chill N Serve   -  10:1 CNS have been to a Liga Final Four, and will have to bring it at a high level to get there this season.

Bump Set Hoes  - 10:1  BSH will try to put together a string of good games in order to get to the Final Four

Shankapotomous 10:1 Shanka, has talent and finally played together for the first time last week; Can they get back to final four, or is it too late?

LAZY LIGHTNING wins Regular Season Title; Playoff Match ups, Final Standings, Kicks of the Week

Here's the Final Headlines, Standings, & Playoff Schedule for Thursday Night indoor volleyball action:

LIGHTNING  get it done, win Regular Season Title 
  The LIGHTNING finished atop the LIGA after a 21-3 season. Despite not grabbing the top spot until Week 6, the LIGHTNING held on and got it done.

LIGHTNING grab top seed.. Can they be stopped?

Here's our FINAL STANDINGS for 2016 Fall LIGA 

(1) LAZY LIGHTNING   (21-3) - The LIGHTNING showed why they are a team to beat, with an incredible 2nd half run to seal the top spot. With weapons all over the court and cohesion to match, can anyone stop the LIGHTNING?
The word was that they asked for the Championship T-shirts after the last regular season game.
 Will it be that easy for the favorites?

(2) LANGE    (20-4)  - LANGE had a great season, even with a shaky start. Can they do the double and grab the LIGA Championship? They also have a MVP candidate and Most Improved on the same team, which has paid huge dividends for the squad. Is this "The Year" for LANGE?

(3) CONSTANT CHAOS  (16-8) - CHAOS  has been on fire, & finished very strong in the 2nd half of the season. Due to tiebreaker they move to 3 spot. Can they continue their hot play?

(4) SET-SY & WE KNOW IT  (16-8) - SET-SY  had a consistent and solid season from start to finish. A legit title contender, can they step it up another notch and get to Final Four? Their energy and synergy throughout the season got them to this level.

(5) BABY GOT BACK SETS  (15-9)  - BACK SETS  also came out with a good overall season. Back Sets have stayed in upper echelon all season.  Can they get back to the Final Four? Been a couple seasons since.

(6) EUDORA HOPSTERS   (10-14) - The HOPSTERS  have shown promise and glimpses that they could be a serious contender. Which team will show up next week? When hitting on all cylinders, Eudora is a scary team to play.

(7) BUMP SET PSYCH  (9-15)  - BSP had a breakout season of sorts, and have shown with a few additions and some hard work, that they could be a force in the playoffs.

(8) CHILL N SERVE  (5-19) - CNS  wasn't able to get in their normal rhythm, and it cost them this season. They have the talent to get to the LIGA 4, but can they execute to make it happen?

(9) BUMP SET HOES  (5-19) - BSH  will look to try to get on track, but compared to last season they made positive progress no doubt. Can BUMP SET make some history next week?

(10) SHANKAPOTOMOUS  (3-21) - SHANKA  had one of their most trying seasons to date, but with the entire team finally showing up last week, can SHANKA put it together and make a FINAL FOUR run like they did a few seasons ago?

It's Official; ROBERTS win Regular Season Title; Playoff Times, Matchups

Here's our recap of Week 8, as we get ready for the playoff run;

ROBERTS captures first Regular Season Liga Title 

 TEAM ROBERTS showed the consistency and drive to get it done this season, as they win the Regular season Championship (19-5).
Can they win the Tourney as well?

Here's the FINAL STANDINGS for the 2016 Fall Wednesday Volleyball LIGA.

(1) ROBERTS  (19-5) - Roberts showed from start to finish that they were the team to beat to win their first LIGA Regular Season Title; Now can they continue in the playoffs?

(2) BRAND  (17-7) -  BRAND has had a marvelous season, in its 1st in the LIGA.  With a fast start and nice finish team BRAND is a legit title contender.

(3) TQL     (16-8)  - TQL, also had a good season, storming out to the #1 spot early in the season, before ending at the 3 spot. Maybe the most dangerous team, as they seem to have weapons all over the court.

(4) SETS MACHINE   (13-11) - The MACHINE that was the Champs last season, has had a roller coaster season to say the least.  Starting slow, but picking it up midway thru the season to end up at the 4 spot.  Can the Champs do it again?

(5) OFF CONSTANTLY  (11-10) - OFF CONSTANTLY had a solid season, also reaching the top spot and riding a winning streak before a bumpy patch kept the squad from staying in top 3. Regardless, this team has a lot of energy, skill, and heart, and it will be ready come next week for a pivotal 4 vs 5 game.

(6)  SNYDER  (10-14) - SNYDER ended up in 6 spot after starting fast. The fact that the team had to make some roster moves hurt the cohesion of the unit, but SNYDER is more than capable of reaching the Championship Week.

(7)  GILLMAN  (9-15) - GILLMAN started really slow, but finished on a huge wave and now sits at the 7 spot. GILLMAN is a savy squad, who when focused and hungry, can beat anybdody. They seemingly have found their team rhythm,  and can that push them to a Final Four Appearance?

(8) SERVING UP A BUZZ  (7-17) - SUAB also started slowly, but has looked more like the top tier franchise they have been since joining the LIGA. Can they finally put the pieces together to make a real run at a Final Four spot?

(9) FORREST BUMP  (3-18) - The BUMP has had some major progress in the last few weeks after starting the season winless in their first few weeks. With wins in 3 of the last 4 weeks, the BUMP knows they can win. Question is, can they rise up and win when it counts most? & win the series at that?

Thursday Recap: Who's #1? Kicks of the Week; Biggest suprises, dissapointment,

Here's our Thursday recap of week 4 in the LIGA as we hit the mid-season mark;

When the LIGHTNING strikes, watch out; TEAM OF THE WEEK 

Week 4 Recap / Headlines;

BACK SETS continue to ball hard
 BABY GOT BACK SETS continue to show why they could be a championship favorite, defeating shankapotomus in three straight. BACK SETS  goes to 9 - 2 while Shankapotomus falls to 1-11.

CONSTANT CHAOS stops HOPSTERS 
CHAOS got a much needed & tough series win as they defeated HOPSTERS (2-1). CHAOS moves to 7-5 while HOPSTERS fall to 4-8.

BUMP SET PSYCH wins first series 
BUMP SET PSYCH garnered it's first series win of the season win a 2-1 win over CHILL N SERVE. CNS won the 1st game but BSP  was able to grab the last 2 and move their record to 3-10 while CNS falls to 4-8.

LIGHTNING win the Game Of The Week 
The LIGHTNING struck hard as they swept #1 seeded LANGE in the GAME OF THE WEEK. The LIGHTNING have been playing very well and now stand at 10-2 while LANGE falls to 8-4.

SET-SY gets huge sweep over BUMP SET HOES 
 SET-SY won the game against BUMP SET HOES in a tough 3 set sweep. SET-SY moves to 8-4 on the season while BSH drops to 5-7.


TEAM OF THE WEEK: LAZY LIGHTNING
 The Lightning have been far from lazy, and the sweep over the top team gets them this nod.


KICKS OF THE WEEK:

Here's what went down in Week 4 of the LIGA;

Is ROBERTS the team to beat? 

BRAND wins another series
 Brand won another big series, moving their overall record to 12-3. Serving Up A BUZZ got their first w of the season, but couldn't win the series.


ROBERTS pulls out huge comeback win in 1 vs 2 battle
  ROBERTS lost the 1st game to the #1 ranked TQL (9-3) squad but found the juice to bounce back and win the series 2-1, & stake claim as the hottest team in the LIGA this season. Roberts move to 12-3.

OFF CONSTANTLY bounces back 
 OFF took a lump in the first game to GILLMAN (4-8) as GILLMAN jumped out to a 12-0 lead in game 1. CONSTANTLY was able to jump out to a 8-0 lead in game 2 and win the last 2 games to move to 7-5 into the halfway mark.

SNYDER holds off FOREST BUMP 
 SNYDER held off a pesky BUMP team who won a game (1-11) and played 3 tough games, but SNYDER ultimately won 2 games to get back to .500 mark at 6-6.

SETS MACHINE ready to smack one down

SETS MACHINE wins first series of season
 SETS MACHINE finally was able to get their first series win of the year as they swept  FOREST BUMP (1-14) as they played well. Can the Champs (6-6) now make a move towards the top of the LIGA?




TEAM OF THE WEEK: 
ROBERTS - in what was the game of the season, ROBERTS knocked off the powerhouse of a team in TQL, which gives them the nod.

Is TEAM ROBERTS headed for a LIGA Championship? 

TQL wins game of the Week 
   TQL continued to do big work, sweeping the top seed OFF CONSTANTLY and showing the entire LIGA that they are the team to watch. The games were close,  but TQL was able to find a way to win all 3.

GILLMAN defeats Champs 
  Team GILLMAN showed some moxie and grit by pulling out a thrilling victory (2-1) over (WILKEN) (SETS MACHINE)....Can the Champs regroup?

ROBERTS continues sizzling hot play 
  Team ROBERTS pulled out a tremendous week with a sweep of 2 opponents during their doubleheader week. Something that is very rare in the LIGA..Could this be ROBERTS year?


BRAND sweeps opponent to stay in upper echelon 
 Team BRAND continued it's hot play with a sweep of Team SNYDER, as they stay in the upper echelon of the LIGA. They have won 7 of last 9 games.

      Team ROBERTS (4-2) held off TEAM WILKEN (SETS MACHINE) in a 3 set thriller in which ROBERTS was able to win a decisive game 3 with a  late spurt. Team WILKEN now falls to 2-4 in early season. Championship hangover maybe?


TQL continues its hot play
      TQL continued to show why they could be a favorite for a run at the LIGA Championship with a sweep over FOREST BUMP. TQL moves to 5-1 while BUMP falls to 0-6.

OFF CONSTANTLY slides by BRAND
  OFF CONSTANTLY was able to hold off a tough BRAND squad, and run its record to 5-1....BRAND was in the game until the final seconds, but not able to seal the deal.

BRAND sweeps GILLMAN 
  Team BRAND bounced back in its doubleheader to sweep GILLMAN and move to 6-3 on the season. GILLMAN falls to 1-5

Fall League Week 1 Recap (Wednesday); Champs knocked off; One team undefeated

 As we get ready for another
strong fall indoor league, here's the Week 1 Results from Wednesday night in the West Carrollton Volleyballiga:

TEAM SNYDER knocks off Champs in Week 1

(1) OFF CONSTANTLY handles biz against FOREST BUMP - 
 OFF CONSTANTLY came out on a mission, and was able to defeat FOREST BUMP 3-0. The first game was close, but OC showed that last year was last year, and there ready to make a run. FOREST played solid, but couldn't get the run they needed to snatch the momentum.

The only squad to get all 3 in Week 1; are they on a mission?

(2)  TQL survives big matchup vs Gillman- 
 TQL used their size and energy to pull out a 3 set thriller on Wednesday night. Both teams won a game, with TQL finishing strong to get the series win 2-1. GILLMAN has a nice team, and will be a strong team.

(3) ROBERTS defeat SNYDER late to seal deal- 
  TEAM ROBERTS used a late run in game 3 to take home the series win against SNYDER. Both teams battled to the end, but ROBERTS were able.to make some key plays late to seal the deal and win series
 2-1.

(4) CHAMPS knocked off by BRAND - 
 TEAM WILKEN came in feeling good, but was suprised during the Season Opener as TEAM BRAND pulled out a huge game 3 win to take the series 2-1. In what was a big game 3, BRAND did enough to take home a big Week 1 victory and shake up the landscape early.
