Thursday 1st round Recap; Final Four Matchups, Schedule; MAMA gets big win; ELLE Survives;

Here's the results / headlines from the first round quarterfinal action in our Thursday volleyball Liga:

MAMA spreads wings, fly to LIGA Final Four 

1ST ROUND:
(8) SERVING UP A BUZZ  stops (9) HIPSTERS
TEAM SUAB handled business in a 2 set  sweep of broken hipsters. 

QUARTERFINALS

(2) SCHOOLERS  sharp in win vs (7) SHANKAPOTOMOUS 
The Home Schoolers came out very sharp and took away any thoughts of an upset that Shankopotamus had as they controlled the tempo in the two-set sweep.
 Once considered an afterthought, now you must consider the schoolers as a legitimate title contender.


(1) ZACH DIGGS stops former Champs 
The "Hot Squad" in the Liga was able to shut down Serving up a Buzz in two sets, showing that they were just too strong this season for the former Champs.
 Zach Diggs continues to play at a very high level and have to be considered as one of the favorites going into the championship with the 1 seed.


(3) ELLE DIGGS tested, but outlasts (6)CHILL N SERVE 
The Champs arrived fashionably late, but was able to get it together in time to stop a very competitive Chill N Serve Squad.
CNS won the first game but Elle regrouped and was able to stop CNS in the last two games to win the series.
 The Champs seem to be playing with house money, can they turn it up once again and repeat as champions?


(5) HOW I SET YA MAMA defeats (4) TRIMBLE 
In a little bit of a surprise upset, How I set Ya Mama was able to take it to Trimble and defeat the 4 seed and former Champs to move to its 2nd consecutive LIGA Final Four.

Mama was hitting on all cylinders early and often, and Trimble came out a little bit shaky and not on top of its game.

Mama will now try to get to its first-ever Liga championship.
